Starting 5ive: Best ankle-breakers by Derrick Rose

September 15, 2015
Sprawled on the floor, clutching his left knee, and grimacing in pain. That should’ve been the last image we’d ever see of  Derrick Rose. But the youngest MVP in NBA history just won’t allow it.

If Rose stopped right then and there at the 2012 playoffs, his NBA profile would’ve been a simple, “Holding on to his knee, and down.” Instead, he bounced back–got hurt again, and bounced back for a second time–to prove that he isn’t done with basketball.

“Nobody believed in me except my friends, my family, my fans and my city,” said Rose. “That’s all I need. My goal is to get back to work and bring it every day.”

Inspired by Rose’s will to “never break,” adidas recently unveiled the D Rose 6, which is designed to elevate the Chicago native’s aggressive game and compliment his drive to win.

If only his opponent’s ankles were also manufactured to never break. Here are five of the best ankle-breakers courtesy of the 2008 No.1 pick:

ANKLE NO. 1: ANDRE MILLER

ANKLE NO. 2: EDDIE HOUSE
