Fantasy Bucket: Beasley is a Walking Bucket

January 9, 2018

By Elvis Gutierrez

Michael Beasley is getting “M-V-P” chants in Madison Square Garden. Gerald Green is dropping 3s like he never left. Manu is dropping 26-point games. Welcome to 2018.

First Bottle: Manu Ginobili

Yeah, Manu Ginobili. The 40-year-old is still quite relevant nowadays. He posted 20 ppg, 3 rpg, 2.3 apg, 3.7 3s, 1.3 spg, and 1 bpg—good for Top 11 for the week. Looks like Tito Manu can still teach these young millennials a thing or two.

Second Bottle: Gerald Green

Just two weeks ago, Green didn’t have a job, playing one-on-one with his dog in his driveway to pass time. This week, he’s with the Houston Rockets and hit an insane 19 THREE-POINTERS in three games. He averaged 24 ppg, 4 rpg, and 6.3 3s (!!!) for the week. Maybe his dog is a really good defender? If you’re not inspired by his story, then you probably went up against him this week (like I did).

Third Bottle: Lou Williams

Jawun Evans, Tyrone Wallace, CJ Williams. You know those guys? Me neither. That’s why LouWill has been going bonkers lately because these are his teammates right now on the injury-ridden Clippers. Lou averaged 27 ppg, 6.3apg, 2.3 rpg, and 2.7 3s for the week.

Fourth Bottle: Delon Wright

Looking at our list this week, it looks like a list from 2011 or something. So it’s good to see a young player make the bucket this week. The impressive rookie has been good with averages of 15 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 4.7 apg, 2 spg, 1.3 3s, and 1 bpg in three games this week. He looks like a good pickup for the season if you’re hunting for upside.

Fifth Bottle: Michael Beasley

Who would ever thought that Michael Beasley would end up in the Fantasy Bucket? I certainly didn’t see this coming as he has been balling for the Knicks so far this year. He averaged 19.3 ppg, 9 rpg, 2.3 apg, 1.3 spg, 1 bpg, and 1 3s for the week. Don’t be surprised if Token Beasley makes an appearance soon, but right now he is New York’s “MVP.”
