December 4, 2017

By Elvis Gutierrez

Another fantasy week has ended, which means it’s time for another round of Fantasy Bucket! Before we start another week of fantasy basketball, let’s look back at last week’s studs and ask ourselves the question: Why the hell did we not draft these guys?

First Bottle: JJ Barea

JJ Barea always finds a way to be relevant in fantasy circles every year. He’s a top contender for the Waiver Wire Pickup of the Week with averages of 15 ppg, 7 apg, 4 rpg, 2.5 3s, and 1 spg, including 21 points, 10 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 3s against the Clippers on Saturday.

Second Bottle: Justin Holiday

Who’s the better Holiday? This week it was Justin as he averaged 17 ppg, 4 apg, 3.7 3s, 1.3 spg, and 2 bpg. He had 25 points, 6 3s, 5 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals against Phoenix on Wednesday. If you bought into the preseason hype, you’re probably doing good in your league.

Third Bottle: Josh Richardson

Two weeks ago, you probably saw his name pop up on your waiver wires, but JRich is bouncing back. He averaged 17 ppg, 2.5 3s, 1.3 spg, and .8 bpg for the week as he is starting to find the groove shooting the ball. Good job if you bought low during the dark times or picked him up off waivers.

Fourth Bottle: Donovan Mitchell

The rookie from Utah is opening eyes all over the NBA landscape as he poured a career-high 41 points vs the New Orleans Pelicans last Saturday. He is a scoring dynamo as he is averaging 27 ppg to go along with 4.3 3s and 4 apg this week to help his fantasy owners. Congrats if you bought into the hype.

Fifth Bottle: Aaron Gordon

AG is proving to be worth all the hype in the offseason. This week, he was a monster including a 40 points, 15 rebounds, 6 3s, 4 assists, 4 steals, and 1 block performance against OKC. He averaged 23 ppg, 8 rpg, 3 apg, 3 3s, 2 spg, 1.8 bpg for the week. His upside is sky high as he sits on Top 16 value for the year. He is a prime candidate for MIP in both real life and fantasy hoops.
