The responses we got were as phenomenal as the Philippine team’s historic run in making it among basketball’s elite.
Day 5: BuhayOFW
Modern day heroes, these Gilas players are, spending their days and nights away from their families to bring honor to everyone rooting for them back home.
In day five of training camp, they take a break from all the hard work to be reminded of what all that “PUSO” talk is all about.

Day 4: Japeth destroys Jeff
Japeth Aguilar is part of the national team because of his length and athleticism, and in the fourth day of the Gilas Pilipinas training camp, he showed exactly that—crossing over Andray Blatche and posterizing Jeff Chan.
After a grueling day of scrimmage, the team visited the family of Gary David for some sinigang, pancit, and lumpia. Kain Pilipinas!

Day 3: Basketball and pizza
Day three of the Gilas Pilipinas training camp in Miami was all about offensive sets, with Andray Blatche showing a glimpse of what he can bring to the Gilas offense.
Blatche also shared to his teammates the secret to a productive practice: pizza.

Day 2: Every practice counts
The players of Gilas Pilipinas do not take long to warm up. After a “light” first practice session, Gilas went to work on their defense on Day 2 of their two-week training camp in Miami.
The Philippine team has tapped the services of Tab Baldwin, a former Lebanon and Jordan coach, to help them adapt to the more fluid and fast-paced style of international basketball and “unlearn what they’ve learned in the PBA.”
No jokes and fancy moves in this training sesh, but as Gilas coach Chot Reyes aptly put it, “every practice counts.” Just don’t tell that to this guy.

Day 1: Gilas Pilipinas take their talents to South Beach
The long and arduous journey of Gilas Pilipinas begins in Miami, where they will train with naturalized Filipino and free agent center Andray Blatche. Gilas coach Chot Reyes said the first day of training camp “is really just to break a sweat,” which explains the light workout, RDO goofing off, and Marc Pingris—sans intensity—coming in late.
“The guys just arrived last night from a long trip so we basically want them to rest, but we wanted it to be an active rest,” said Reyes.
The FIBA World Cup begins on August 30. Watch this video from interAKTV:

Rage Against the (Trade) Machine: Bringing Love to Beantown
Kevin Love wants out? Multiple teams interested? This calls for the Trade Machine!*
Let’s take a quick breather from the NBA Finals and explore trades involving the T-Wolves franchise player—or if you ask Ricky Rubio, just another guy who brings the stats but not the leadership.
Christmas Day
After more than a 3-month hiatus, BuhayBasket is back not with a vengeance, but with fresher legs and the eye on the proverbial ball. Just like Steve Nash. Minus the Gatsby haircut, of course.

Speaking of Nash, who played in his second straight game in nearly two months, his side part orchestrated another Laker victory at the expense of the New York Knicks.

Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony both dropped 34 points, but it was the Black Mamba emerging victorious, thanks to Dwight’s 14 and 12; Pau’s 13 and 8; and Metta’s defense.
Even Nash was impressed.
